Glossary - Taxon
Unit of identification, classification and organization of a group of plants, regardless of their rank (family, genus, species, sub-species, etc.). A taxon defines a system of populations of genetically related individuals. The science that distinguishes them is the taxonomy and is based on similarities of structure, origin, evolutionary development, molecular genetics, etc.
