In fact, the winner is a Bristlecone pine. Mathusalem, growing in California, is nearly 4,800 years old. When the first Stonehenge boulders were erected, it was already almost 200 years old! A Norway spruce recently discovered in Sweden has roots that are almost 9,550 years old. However, its aboveground parts are younger: they are only 600 years old.
