The virtual exhibit Trees Inside Out is a collaborative team result. This website was made by the Jardin botanique de MontrĂ©al (Montreal Botanical Garden), in collaboration with the Centre d’étude de la forĂȘt (CEF) (Centre for Forestry Research - CFR), and financed by the Virtual Museum of Canada (VMC).

The Jardin botanique de Montréal gratefully acknowledges the financial investment by the Department of Canadian Heritage in the creation of this online presentation for the Virtual Museum of Canada.

The Montreal Botanical Garden is one of the most important and beautiful botanical gardens in the world. It holds a collection of 22,000 species and cultivars of plants, 10 exposition greenhouses, about thirty thematic gardens, along with a team of scientists and animation programs. Its Arboretum, spreading over 40 hectares, comprises close to 7,000 tree and shrub specimens, along with a pavilion specially dedicated to the valorization of the Arboretum's collections, of trees and of the forest: the Tree House.

The Centre for Forestry Research is an academic grouping that reunites expertise of 49 scientists from eight university establishments and their graduate students, that work in forests around a global vision that ties comprehension of the functional role of organisms and dynamic processes in forest ecosystems with the conception of innovating alternatives in forest management.

Trees Inside Out is part of virtualmuseum.ca, the result of a close partnership between Canada's museum community and the Department of Canadian Heritage. As an endless source of discoveries, virtualmuseum.ca is a unique interactive space that brings together Canadian museum collections and riches in a variety of thought-provoking and instructive contents. It's the window on current museum news and the reference guide to planning an outing.
