I often get asked: "What does a conservator do exactly?" My first reflex is to explain that it's like a museum conservator. My work has a direct link with what is being exposed: the plants, the trees, everything that is related to plant life.
The conservator's role is to make sure that everything that is in our botanical garden be correctly identified and corresponds to the vocations of the Jardin. Each plant in the Jardin is identified and has a specific number. We can know when it was planted, everything that happened to it. All of this is for the scientists, for the educators and for teaching the general public.
