The fruit of knowledge

Wrong Answer

What we refer to as the fruit of the ginkgo is actually a very large ovule with an unpleasant odour, and is produced by "female" trees. Ginkgos belong to the group of plants called pre-spermatophytes: in evolutionary terms, they precede the development not only of fruits, but also of seeds.
