My research

I study the ecology of communities, in terms of biological traits of plant species. That means, for example, the mode of seed dispersion, their longevity, the way they propagate. All their strategies for surviving in the forest teach us a lot about the way they will react to disturbances.

Working on the level of processes allows us to compare ecosystems that have no similar species but that have species with similar traits. We can come up with a synthesis of major processes that explain ecosystem response to disturbances. In short, that's my passion!
