Glossary - Tree of Ténéré

Solitary acacia, a Acacia raddiana or Acacia tortilis, which was once considered the most isolated tree on Earth - no other tree located at less than 400 km. He served as a benchmark for the caravan routes which crossed the Tenere Desert in northeastern Niger. It was located approximately 17°45'N 10°04'E.
